How to Play Asteroid Drift
Drift through an asteroid field with momentum-based ship movement, six hulls to fly, and seven stage themes including a bright one.
Controls
Choose Easy, Hard, or Extreme plus your ship and theme in Settings (changes apply as you pick them), then use WASD, the arrow keys, or drag/touch toward a target point to thrust. Press P or Escape to pause.
Goal
Avoid asteroids and scoop up fourteen kinds of salvage, from common ration pods to the rare ring relic. Every fifth piece earns a prize on a repeating ladder: a shield at 5, slow motion at 10, a tractor magnet at 15, and a bonanza at 20 that doubles salvage value for 8 seconds and shields you as well. Random supply drops hand you one of the same four prizes on their own clock, the first within 3 seconds of starting.
Tips
- Start turning before you reach an asteroid because the ship has momentum.
- Watch the pips on the Salvage chip: one more piece before a prize is worth a small risk.
- Chase the rare salvage only when the lane ahead is clear; a ring relic is worth eight star shards.
- Save the rare finds for a bonanza window, when everything you collect is worth double.
- Try the Needle for tight gaps or the Hauler when you want the field to stop sliding out from under you.
- Use short thrust corrections instead of constantly holding one direction.
